چکیده

Monitoring of precipitation using higher frequency radar systems such as X-band is becoming popular. At X-band frequency, weather radar signals are attenuated along their paths due to precipitation. A network-based reflectivity retrieval technique has been developed for the Adaptive Sensing of the Atmosphere (CASA) system, which is a radar network that can observe a weather event simultaneously by multiple radars in different locations. In this paper the network based attenuation correction will be evaluated by CASA Integrated Project 1 (IP1) data during 20072009 field experiments. The results show that the networked based attenuation correction algorithm retrieves reflectivity properly. Index Terms — X band, Network, Attenuation correction, CASA IP1

Flooding is one of the most common natural hazards that produce substantial loss of life and property. The QPE products that are derived at high spatiotemporal resolution, which is enabled by the deployment of a dense radar network, have the potential to improve the prediction of flash-flooding threats when coupled with hydrological models. Evaluation of attenuation correction process in cardiac SPECT images

Introduction: Attenuation correction is a useful process for improving myocardial perfusion SPECT and is dependent on activity and distribution of attenuation coefficients in the body (attenuation map). Attenuation artifacts are a common problem in myocardial perfusion SPECT. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of attenuation correction using different a...

Qualitative evaluation of Chang method of attenuation correction on heart SPECT by using custom made heart phantom

SPECT detects γ-rays from administered radiopharmaceutical within the patient body. γ-rays pass through different tissues before reaching detectors and are attenuated. Attenuation can cause artifacts; therefore different methods are used to minimize attenuation effects. In our study efficacy of Chang method was evaluated for attenuation purpose, using a custom made heart phantom. Due to d...

Correction of X-Band Radar Observation for Propagation Effects Based on the Self-Consistency Principle

New algorithms for rain attenuation correction of reflectivity factor and differential reflectivity are presented. Following the methodology suggested for the first time by Gorgucci et al., the new algorithms are developed based on the self-consistency principle, describing the interrelation between polarimetric measurements along the rain medium. There is an increasing interest in X-band radar...

A novel dual energy CT-based attenuation correction method in PET/CT systems: A phantom study

In present PET/CT scanners, PET attenuation correction is performed by relying on the information given by CT scan. In the CT-based attenuation correction methods, dual-energy technique (DECT) is the most accurate approach, which has been limited due to the increasing patient dose. In this feasibility study, we have introduced a new method that can implement dual-en...
